On 16th April 2010 the election was confirmed of the new Bishop of Portsmouth at St Mary-le-Bow. The Vicar General's Court included the Archbishop of Canerbury, the Bishop of London, Proctor, Advocate and Provicial Registrar.
The new Bishop of Portsmouth is the Rt Revd Christopher Foster, formerly Bishop of Hertford.
A recent trip to the workshop of organ builder Kenneth Tickell & Co revealed the success of the organ project and gave the Rector an opportunity to try out a new pipe.

'Ageing: burden or blessing?' given by the Revd Canon James Woodward, Canon Steward of Windsor
On Tuesday 16th February at 6.00pm Professor John Hedley Brooke delivered the 2010 Boyle Lecture, this year at the Guild Church of St Mary Aldermary. He took as his subject 'The legacy of Robert Boyle, then and now'.
On Thursday 18th February the Venerable Donald Allister's election as Diocesan Bishop of Peterborough was confirmed by the Vicar General's Court in a ceremony at St Mary-le-Bow. His Grace the Archbishop of Canterbury presided at a Eucharist here afterwards.
