Lady Mayoress inaugurates Nativity window on Cheapside

On 26th November the Lady Mayoress performed two ceremonies back to back, beginning with an entirely new venture.

The recently built Bow Bells House, on the west side of Bow Churchyard, still has some empty retail units on Cheapside. Through the sponsorship of local livery companies and businesses, one of the double-fronted windows has been dressed with a Nativity scene and the words of O little Town of Bethlehem. The Lady Mayoress then went on to switch on the Bow Lane Christmas lights.

Lutherans welcomed

A delegation of Lutherans from major cities in Germany visited St Mary-le-Bow on 14th September.

The group decided to visit London to see how different Anglican churches work alongside other institutions in the City. As well as St Mary-le-Bow, they visited St James's Piccadily, St Martin-in-the-Fields and St Paul's Cathedral. Right: the Rector addresses the delegation
